As somebody who can't get enough of saltwater or sandy shoreline, I wished this piece would go on till sunset. Exquisite work, text and photos. At least I have a tidal estuary a four short-block walk away.
This reminded me of an earlier conversation we had about an island and related news this morning. A production of an apparent jukebox musical, 'Buena Vista Social Club,' was announced for nyc previews in February, opening 19 March. Just sayin'.
Thank you for reading and responding! It is possible I may be in New York in the Spring. The one you mentioned sounds very interesting. Although I may owe my daughter a visit to a Broadway musical Nick Jonas of the Jonas Brothers is appearing in this Spring. We just did the Jonas Bros band thing recently, my beloved 30-year-old still a raging fan since her mid-teens. Here was the frontline report: https://thestoryisthething.substack.com/p/its-a-jonas-brothers-thing
No accounting for taste. Marty Balin bummed a cigarette from me once and I thought i'd gone to heaven. My musical preferences have shifted, but I love the Airplane (and Dead) no less. And vintage "Mountain Stage," for that matter.

Live large! See both! Actually, I read the Jonas piece when you posted it. I was touched and bemused. She was underexposed to 'Mountain Stage?'
She was. Opinionated as to what kind of music she loved even when just knee high to a grasshopper.
